The Tampa Bay Times' Lennie Bennett reviewed In Living Color: Andy Warhol and Contemporary Printmaking, now open at the Tampa Museum of Art. Bennett calls the show a "rare treat" for its extensive number of Andy Warhol works, 50 in total, as well as prints by Anish Kapoor, Keith Haring, Frank Stella, and more.
The exhibition is drawn from the collections of Portland art collector and philanthropist Jordan D. Schnitzer, who has collected over 8,500 contemporary prints and lends them to institutions through the Jordan Schnitzer Family Foundation. In discussing his Warhol collection, he explains that he purchased all the versions of Mao "because that's the way Warhol wanted them to be seen, image after image, like a film strip." The show is on view until September 20th.
