Tap Milwaukee Reporter Mary Louise Schumacher interviewed renowned contemporary artist Frank Stella, whose print works are currently on display in Frank Stella Prints: A Retrospective at the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art. Drawn from the collections of art collector and philanthropist Jordan D. Schnitzer, the prints "run through all Stella's major movements and give testimony to the breadth of his experimentation," Schumacher writes.
"There are two different stories," Frank Stella said, reflecting on the prints' relation to his minimalist past. "The first part is the struggle with printmaking and relating it with (paintings) I made. (Then) all of a sudden it doesn't relate to painting. It's almost reversed."
The exhibit is on view through May 15th. Read the full article.
