PORT - the leading Portland art blog - announced its top arts & culture blog posts of 2015. The "biggest cultural story of the year in Portland" was the opening of the new Arlene & Harold Schnitzer Center for Art and Design at the Pacific Northwest College of Art (PNCA).
Named for Jordan Schnitzer's parents, philanthropists Arlene Schnitzer and Harold Schnitzer, the building is the flagship of PNCA’s campus on Portland’s North Park Blocks. Its Creativity Works Here capital campaign launched in 2012 with a lead gift of $5 million from the Schnitzer family, and the facility opened in March 2015.
