Philbrook Museum of Art in Tulsa, OK, will offer free admission on January 8th and 9th as part of its "First Friday" and "Second Saturday" programs. According to Tulsa World, the New Year's Day holiday has caused this month's "First Friday" to be pushed back one week, marking a rare opportunity to experience "First Friday" and "Second Saturday" in the same weekend.
"First Friday" is an arts crawl event held monthly by the Brady Arts District, while "Second Saturday" is Philbrook's monthly event with hands-on activities for all ages. This will be the last chance to see the current exhibition, In Living Color: Andy Warhol and Contemporary Printmaking, for free, a benefit provided free of cost to the museum by the Jordan Schnitzer Family Foundation. This exhibit features over 90 artworks by Andy Warhol and his contemporaries, drawn from the collection of Portland-based art collector and philanthropist Jordan D. Schnitzer. The show is on view through January 17th.
