Laramie Live reports on the latest exhibits to open at the University of Wyoming Art Museum, including Emancipating the Past: Kara Walker's Tales of Slavery and Power, drawn from the collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and his Family Foundation. Jordan Schnitzer led a walkthrough of the exhibit and panel discussion of Kara Walker's artwork on February 2nd.
Of Walker’s exhibit, Schnitzer says “Kara Walker is the pre-eminent artist of our time who forces us to deal with issues that many people would rather not deal with. Her art needs to be seen, and the themes need to be examined.”
The exhibit runs through May 14th.
