The series reflects movements of the 1960s that remain at the forefront of politics
Patrice Worthy of the Atlanta Jewish Times speaks to Jordan Schnitzer, the president of the Jordan Schnitzer Family Foundation, on Andy Warhol’s influence and why the artist’s view into the looking glass is still so compelling.
The Foundation loaned the expansive collection of Warhol’s work to the High Museum of Modern Art for its exhibition now thru September 3.
“The work speaks to issues that are just as relevant today as they were when Warhol was creating them,” said Schnitzer. Artists are “no different than newspaper writers or TV commentators. They’re pushing the envelope on things that are uncomfortable for us,” he said.
