In Cascadia Weekly‘s latest cover story, reporter Amy Kepferle covers the exhibition Radical Repetition: Albers to Warhol at the Whatcom Museum in Bellingham, Washington, drawn from the collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and his Family Foundation. On view now through August 17th, the show focuses on the use of repeating imagery in contemporary art with works from such renowned artists as Andy Warhol, Josef Albers, John Baldessari, Willie Cole, Hung Liu, and more. Kepferle summarizes Jordan Schnitzer’s recent talk at the Museum by noting, “Schnitzer’s message to those listening hewed closely to the theme—basically, that art should be shared with as many people as possible, whenever possible.”
“It brings me so much joy to know we’ll get thousands of people in here to see the exhibit,” Mr. Schnitzer told the crowd. “You should also know it gives me as much joy to come see the works as you.” Kepferle adds, “It doesn’t hurt that this is an exhibit worth seeing, and then seeing again.”
