BLOUIN ARTINFO featured the Gay Outlaw exhibition coming to the San Francisco venue of the Anglim Gilbert Gallery. From September 9 through October 14, Outlaw’s work will be on view, and she is a tough artist to pigeonhole into one genre or form.
Gay Outlaw received her BA from University of Virginia, followed with an École de Cuisine La Varenne, Paris, France and a degree from The International Center of Photography. Outlaw creates her abstracts from using blends of materials: glass, plastic, felt and found materials like pencils or rubber hoses. Her culinary degree inspired her to use food in some of her sculptures.
Outlaw’s other solo exhibitions included “Mutable Object,” hosted at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum at the University of Oregon, and a dozen more in the San Francisco area.
