“Ellsworth Kelly: Last Paintings” is on view at the Matthew Marks Gallery on West 22nd Street, in New York, through June 24.
Alicia Desantis of the New York Times interviewed photographer Jack Shear, a man who lived with Ellsworth Kelly for 32 years in the house adjacent to the painter's studio. After Kelly's death in 2015, Shears left the studio frozen in time until the last of Kelly's canvases were removed for a showing at the Matthew Marks Gallery.
