The Desert Sun's Desert Outlook magazine has recommended the Palm Springs Fine Art Fair as "the hottest cultural event in town." Held in conjunction with Modernism Week, the fourth annual Fine Art Fair will take place February 12-15, 2015. A record 64 art galleries will show at the Fair, bringing big names in contemporary art to the Coachella Valley, including Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, and Robert Rauschenberg.
Program highlights include:
•A VIP reception honoring Arts Patron of the Year, Arlene Schnitzer (7:30 p.m. Feb. 12)
•An expert-led tour of the fair (Feb. 13, 14 & 15; you must RSVP to participate)
•An interview with internationally-famous artist Hung Liu, conducted by noted art critic Peter Frank (12 p.m. Feb. 13)
•A reception honoring art collector Jordan Schnitzer, whose collection of prints is unmatched by any living art collector (4 p.m. Feb. 13)
•A presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award to sculptor and painter Fletcher Benton (3 p.m. Feb. 14)
•An Artist Spotlight featuring the colorful cast resin sculptures of Peter Alexander (12:30 p.m. Feb. 15)
•A panel discussion entitled Hard Edge Living – Keeping Cool in the Desert, moderated by Peter Frank, held in collaboration with Modernism Week (2:30 p.m. Feb. 15)
