JORDAN SCHNITZER SPEAKS WITH CHILDREN AT MISSOULA ART MUSEUM

KPAX News captures collector Jordan D. Schnitzer at the Missoula Art Museum speaking to children as part of the Museum’s “Fifth Grade Art Experience” program. The program took place during the Jordan Schnitzer Family Foundation exhibit Under Pressure, showing through June 1.

Mr. Schnitzer spoke to fifth graders from Hawthorne Elementary about the importance of art and was joined by Oregon-based Native American artist Rick Bartow, who danced with the children around his sculpture Bear for Mary and John as he shared the story behind the piece. Watch the video on the KPAX website.

The Jordan Schnitzer Family Foundation provided an $11,000 grant to the Missoula Art Museum’s educational programs, including a busing stipend to allow students from rural schools to see the exhibit. The “Fifth Grade Art Experience” gives all fifth grade classes in Missoula County the opportunity to learn about art, free of cost to the schools.
