Daily Evergreen reporter, Katie Shadler, writes the new 10,000 square foot Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art will be completed in December. The new museum will have six different exhibition spaces, with a space to house WSU Museum of Art's permanent collection of 3,800 pieces, which is now held storage.
This 40 year dream in the making was designed by Jim Olson of Olson Kundig Designs. “When students see themselves reflected in this building,” he said, “they’ll see their lives through the lens of art.”
Debby Stinson, marketing and public relations manager for the museum, said, “Our purpose is to show art, our bigger purpose … is to have transformational art experiences for campus, students, faculty, staff and visitors.”
