The Moscow-Pullman Daily News reports that Jordan D. Schnitzer urged Washington State University graduates to “be the greatest generation in the 21st century” in his commencement speech last Saturday. Mr. Schnitzer was the featured speaker at the ceremony and also received an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Fine Arts, the highest award that the University can confer upon an individual.
“You are the best educated, the best trained, the most computer-literate and the most socially tolerant graduates WSU has ever had,” Jordan Schnitzer told the audience of almost 800 graduates. He also encouraged them to get involved in public service and protect the arts, which he called “the highest ideals of society.”
